Far fewer know what to do when that client is postpartum, her baby is in the NICU, she's presenting as high-functioning, and her nervous system has been in dorsal vagal shutdown for six weeks. Beyond Coregulation is a full-day advanced training built specifically for clinicians working with perinatal populations. You'll leave with a concrete clinical framework, trauma-informed language you can use in session the very next day, and a structured approach to intervention layering that meets clients exactly where their nervous system is. Clinical Framework to complex presentations including NICU mothers, birth trauma survivors, and high-functioning clients who are quietly in shutdown. - Read infant regulatory cues with clinical confidence — differentiate dyadic nervous system concerns from presentations requiring pediatric evaluation, holding medical and relational assessment as complementary rather than competing priorities. - Evaluate client readiness for neurofeedback referral using a structured decision tree that includes contraindication screening and ethical, evidence-based communication with clients. - Use shame-reducing, trauma-informed language in response to perinatal presentations involving disconnection, perceived failure, and birth trauma disclosure — scripts you can take straight into session. - Build an individualized intervention layering plan that integrates somatic, biofeedback, and coregulation strategies matched to nervous system state, access barriers, and concurrent medical needs.
